Over the summer, Shaq Moore of Powder Spring, Ga. and Tyler Turner of West Haven, Conn. joined the IMG Academy soccer program, and are set to be key contributors to the U18 team this season. However, Moore and Turner were recently invited to train with the U.S. Soccer U18 National Camp in Carson, Calif., Sept. 23-28. The event will attract only the best-of-the best among players born in 1996 and '97. Participants in the camp are vying for a place on the U.S. Soccer U18 roster when the program travels to France in October. Moore and Turner are no strangers to international competition, as they have been members of the U.S. U17 program and chose to join IMG Academy to prepare for the next level.

"Hopefully [Shaq and I] can make the next step into the U18 pool - Shaq was the team captain of the U17s when we won the Nike Friendlies, so we're hoping to carry all those high-caliber moments into the 18s and perform really well out in California," remarked Turner on the chance to perform at the national camp. "When I went back home for the summer I thought a lot about how IMG [Academy] trained every day and how they were such a good team that we scrimmaged against, and they beat us a few times, so that's why I made the choice to join IMG and be a part of it. We're going to have a great season with all the high-caliber players we're going to have."

Turner and Moore are two of the highest-ranked prospects in the nation for their respective signing classes, and are looking to the elite level of competition they will play against with IMG Academy, and the world-class training facilities that are at their disposal.

"The training here is so good, it has been the perfect preparation to get ready for the U18 camp for me and Tyler, and playing against the best guys in the area and in the country and we have the best facilities here, so I knew it would be fun to live here, play here and go to National Camp ... it will be a big step toward getting into the U20s" commented Moore. "I joined IMG Academy because it's the best place for me to train, and you play with these guys day in and day out, and when I went back home there was a big drop in the level of competition, so I just wanted to be able to play every day against the best competition."

Shaq Moore is one of the most elite defenders in the U.S., and the No. 1 overall prospect in the United States for the Class of 2015 according to Top Drawer Soccer. Turner, too, is an elite defender, and ranked No. 1 among players in the Northeast, No. 2 among defenders and No. 13 overall for the Class of 2014. Moore and Turner will travel to California on Sunday to take part in the U18 National Camp.
