Over the weekend, the IMG Academy Basketball program's Kerem Kanter, younger brother of Utah Jazz forward Enes Kanter, made a big impression at the FIBA Europe U-18 All-Star game, held in Ljubljana , Slovenia, Sept. 21. Kanter played as member of the 'White' team, representing his native Turkey. Though the White team finished on the losing end of the game, falling 74-69 to the 'Blue' team after five lead changes in the fourth quarter, Kanter led his team with 14 points in the game. In July, the 18-year old Kanter also helped lead Turkey to a gold medal finish at the 2013 U18 European Men's Championship, held in Riga, Latvia. Turkey knocked off Croatia 81-74 in the gold medal game. With the gold medal on the line, Kanter led the team in rebounds, with seven, and sealed the victory when he went 2-for-2 at the free throw line in the closing seconds. In the semi-finals of the U-18 Championships, Kanter hit his career-high in points scored, with a 22-point night against Spain on July 27.
