Four members of IMG Academy boys basketball program sign with Division-I colleges
Bradenton, Fla. (April 23, 2013) – The late signing period for NCAA men’s basketball went into effect on April 17, and since then, IMG Academy student-athletes Darius Lewis, Daniel Robinson, Tommy Hamilton and William Powell have made their college decisions.
“This is what we work for every day – It’s great for our program, our vision for moving forward and the growth of these young men who come in and perform well, so this is their reward at the end of the year,” said Kenny Natt, Director of Basketball, IMG Academy. “Our kids have worked hard, on and off the court, and the most important thing for us is that they continue to do that at the next level.”
The signees include:
The 6-foot-11 C Darius Lewis, a native of Lexington, Ky., has accepted an offer to play collegiately in the Atlantic-10 Conference with Duquesne University. Lewis will join the Dukes and aid second year Head Coach Jim Ferry in rebuilding the program after an 8-22 campaign in 2012-13.

SF William Powell, a native of Huntsville, Ala., signed with Seattle University, a second-year member of the Western Athletic Conference. The 6-foot-5 Powell will play for Head Coach Cameron Dollar, and help the Redhawks program improve after an 8-22 campaign in their inaugural year as a member of the WAC.

The 6-foot-9 Hamilton will play for Head Coach Oliver Purnell as they look to bounce back from a 2012-13 season that saw the Blue Demons struggle through an 11-21 overall record.
