IMG Academy basketball program alumni are playing big roles in March Madness
The NCAA men's basketball tournament tips off today, and the 64 teams who qualified for the field have on their road to the Final Four. However, IMG Academy alumni have played a major role in three teams' success this season. IMG Academy alum who you will see during March Madness this year include:
Kenny Kadji, the 6-foot-11 C/F for the University of Miami Hurricanes, earned Second Team All-ACC honors this year, and is second on the team in scoring with 13.3 points per game. Kadji has started every game this season for the 'Canes, and will lead Miami against the University of the Pacific on Friday.
Jamari Traylor, a redshirt freshman for the Kansas Jayhawks has also been an important contributor to the Jayhawks' success this year. Appearing in all 34 of the Jayhawks' games this year, Traylor has helped his team to a Big XII best overall record of 29-5 overall record (14-4 Big XII), and a No. 1 seed in the NCAA South Regional bracket. Traylor is joined on the roster by fellow alumnus Christian Garrett, and Kansas will take to the hardwood against Western Kentucky on Friday night at 9:40 p.m. EST.
Kamari Murphy, a true freshmen for the Oklahoma State Cowboys has been a major contributor this season. The former consensus four-star forward coming out of IMG Academy has been an effective role player, providing quality depth and helping the Cowboys to a 24-8 overall record, and to a fifth seed in the Midwest Regional bracket. He is joined by fellow IMG Academy alumnus Ford Stuen at Oklahoma State, and the Cowboys will face the Oregon Ducks later today at 4:40 p.m. EST.
