IMG Academy Thriving Deep Into the U.S. Open
Day 11 from the Big Apple, and IMG Academy's name remains tied to several competitors at the U.S. Open. From the all-American women's semifinals to the junior boys' singles draw to the quarter and semifinal rounds of the women's and mixed doubles' draws, IMG Academy current and former trainees can be seen throughout. Venus Williams (USA), CoCo Vandeweghe (USA), Madison Keys (USA), Sloane Stephens (USA), Martina Hingis (SUI), Michael Venus (USA) and Axel Geller (ARG) are capitalizing on their strokes and strengths to grind through the tournament.
Linked to the limitless training possibilities at IMG Academy, each of these trainees have been exposed to the multitude of expert coaches on-hand, the extensive facility usage, the strength and conditioning programming, and the insight of the game unlike anywhere else around the globe.
Most recently, Geller pushed through the 3rd round of the boys singles draw. As the top-seed, Bradenton's eyes are posted on his upcoming match in the quarterfinals. Williams takes on Stephens tonight at prime time on Arthur Ashe Stadium while Vandeweghe follows closely behind as she faces Keys immediately after.
Hingis, competing alongside Yung-Jan Chan (TPE) on Thursday, seeks a spot in the women's doubles semifinals. Venus works with Hao-Ching Chan (TPE) through the mixed doubles rounds. On the other side of that draw lies Vandeweghe and partner Horia Tecau (ROU) against Hingis and Jamie Murray (GBR). As the tournament dwindles, IMG Academy's name holds strong.
With unbounded potential, IMG Academy trainees continue to excel, not only on the courts in New York, but on college fields and professional courts alike. Through regimens that build success both in sport and in life, IMG Academy allows for athletes to train from Bradenton and compete around the globe.
