IMG Academy's Qi Wen Wong cards low round of 63 at Penn State on PGA Junior Series
IMG Academy's Qi Wen Wong has put himself in the driver's seat of the ongoing PGA Junior Series event at Penn State University, being held July 10-12 in University Park, Pa. On Friday, Wong (-8) shot the lowest round in the event with a 63, a ten stroke improvement from the previous day, and giving himself a four-stroke advantage heading into the final round. Wong, a native of Singapore, is playing at Penn State as part of the IMG Academy eight-week summer full-time tournament program.
Wong is a member of the National Honor Society, and has had a successful campaign since the dawn of the New Year. Wong was named as the IMG Academy Golf program's Boys MVP and a member of the First Team, and won the IMG Academy Match Play Tournament in April, sinking a hole-in-one during the event..
