Peyton Cormane of Tioga, L.A. wins IMG Academy Baseball Gatorade G-Award Week of June 17
Every week at least one athlete from each sport will earn the Gatorade G-Award/IMG Academy Athlete of the Week for displaying Heart, Hustle and Soul, and exhibiting a true desire to reach their true athletic potential.
The IMG Academy Baseball winner of the Gatorade G-Award for the week of June 17 is 14-year-old Peyton Cormane from Tioga, La.
How long have you been playing baseball for?
Since I was 3 years old.
Who is your coach?
Coach Pete Paciorek.
What is your favorite thing about IMG Academy and why?
They teach you how to specifically do every mechanic and they go over the details of everything.
Do you have any pre-game rituals that help you prepare for a big game?
I prepare myself to know what’s coming. I just think and mentally prepare myself.
What professional athlete inspires you the most?
Derek Jeter inspires me most because he’s always relaxed and has a great sense of baseball. He’s very mental and knows the game.
What is your favorite thing to do after you win a game?
I just get my team out. I let them feel the victory and carry my team on my shoulders.
What motivates you to push through a tough practice?
Hard work and coming out there knowing I got to put everything out to play well.
