Student Athlete of the Week: Jared Mabarak (Boys Lacrosse)
Jared Mabarak, a Boys Lacrosse student-athlete, traveled to IMG Academy from North Carolina and has since had a massive impact on the community. Impressing his teachers, his coaches, and the Ascenders around him, Mabarak earns this week's Student Athlete of the Week.
Having played lacrosse for 11 years, Mabarak enjoys working with his current coach, Mark Burnam.
"Jared is one of the hardest working players I have ever coached," Burnam said. "He gives you 100% on every single rep and never makes excuses. Jared will be a very good college player and will be successful at what ever he does either in athletics and or life. He is a pleasure to coach and a fierce competitor. Jared is also stellar in the classroom, and he maintains one of the top 5 highest GPA’S on the team. Jared Mabarak is stellar student athlete and a real pleasure to coach!"
For Mabarak, he's also enjoying being a student, and his favorite subject is history because "it's interesting to see where we came from and where we are now." His favorite teacher is Ms. Levy.
"Jared is an exceptional student and a leader in the classroom," Ashley Marrinan-Levy said. "As dedicated to success in the classroom as he is on the field, Jared truly embodies IMG's core values: Champion's Spirit, Open Mind, Helpful Heart, Absolute Integrity, and Passionate Soul."
Congratulations to Jared on making a significant impact on all of those around him and earning Student Athlete of the Week!
