After graduating from Royal Palm Beach High School, Kason was drafted by the Boston Red Sox. He attended Indian River State College where he became an All-Conference pitcher. Kason signed with the Boston Red Sox in 2001 and made his debut in 2005. In 2007, he was awarded a World Series Ring from the Boston Red Sox after being traded months earlier. He pitched for the Texas Rangers from 2007-2009 then traded back to the Boston Red Sox. After 11 professional years pitching Kason retired in 2012. After his professional career, Kason began his coaching career with the high school from which he graduated, Royal Palm Beach High School.
