Before playing collegiately at USC, Chen won the 2010 U.S. Girls Junior title and was selected to the 2010 Rolex Junior All-America First Team. That same year, she helped the United States to a Junior Ryder Cup win over Europe, 13.5-10.5.
Chen also contributed mightily to USC's victory in the 2013 NCAA Golf Championship.
