IMG Academy in the NFL Game of the Week: New York Jets at New England Patriots

IMG Academy trainee Geno Smith has taken over the starting QB role for the New York Jets, and will be put to the AFC East favorite New England Patriots

The annual IMG Academy NFL Combine/Draft Training program saw a record number of its trainees selected in the NFL Draft. Tonight, when the New York Jets takes the field against the New England Patriots on the NFL Network at 8:25 p.m., it will be an opportunity to watch six IMG Academy trained players in action.

The Jets may have the strongest IMG Academy ties in the NFL this year after the last draft. Starting QB Geno Smith, DT Sheldon Richardson (pictured right) and FB Tommy Bohannon all trained together this year under the guidance of IMG Academy Director of Football, Chris Weinke, and his experienced staff of coaches. They are joined on the team by starting WR Stephen Hill, who wowed scouts with a blazing 40-yard dash time at the 2012 NFL Combine before being selected in the second-round, and reserve LB Nick Bellore, who prepped for the NFL with the Class of 2011. On the opposite side, rookie WR Aaron Dobson will have plenty of opportunities as the team's third receiver heading into the latest installment of this bitter AFC East division rivalry.
