IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida has been helping players develop their basketball abilities for some time now and this year is no exception.
Two of the prospects that played at IMG Academy this year, one in the post graduate program and the other a high school senior, did so in order to improve their basketball skills and increase their college interest.
This appears to have been a successful strategy as both Marko Cukic and Alex Drecksel are have picked up interest from a variety of Division-I schools.
Post graduate Marko Cukic is a 6-9, 235 pound forward who can play inside or out. He averaged right around 10 points and 7 rebounds this past season. He is also an excellent student with a 3.7 GPA.
Since Marko excels on and off the court he has been attracting the interest of Patriot and Ivy League schools, but the schools currently showing the most interest are Fordham, Quinnipiac, Miami (OH), Hofstra, Towson, American, Penn, Columbia and NJIT.
High school senior Alex Drecksel is a 6-4, 180 pound wing player with range out behind the arc and he can also attack off the dribble. This year he averaged 14.4 points, 2.7 assists, 1.3 blocks, 5 rebounds and 2 steals per game. Before arriving at IMG Academy Alex was an all state selection in Idaho.
Another good student, Alex is also attracting interest from some teams in the Patriot and Ivy Leagues, but he is receiving the most interest from Northern Arizona, Marist, Harvard, Rider, Utah Valley, Utah State and Missouri-Kansas City.
We will keep you updated on any further developments in their recruitment.
