In their second game of the Hall of Fame Classic, IMG (10-3) defeated Episcopal (Jacksonville, FL) by a score of 5-1. Episcopal got on the board first in the top of the first inning but starting pitcher Tyler Hesselgesser was able to work out a jam and avoid further damage. IMG answered in the bottom of the 3rd when Eric Myskowski cleared the bases with a bases loaded double to the right centerfield gap. IMG tacked on a run in the 4th and 6th innings respectively. Episcopal had some scoring opportunities but was unable to capitalize.
Tyler Hesselgesser picked up the win, allowing only 1 run over 6 innings while striking out 3. He improves his record to 3-0 on the year. Kirk Dirschl pitched an inning in relief allowing no runs and striking out one batter.
Offensively, Eric Myskowski lead the team with a 2-4 performance which included a clutch 3 RBI double. Dan Kennon continued to stay hot at the plate. Kennon was 2-3 with a double off the left field fence and a run scored. Joe Daru flexed his muscles with an opposite field Home Run.
With the win, IMG clinches the number 1 seed from the A bracket and will face the loser of the St. John' College HS (Washington DC) and Battleground Academy (Franklin, TN) matchup. Mack Meyer will take the hill for IMG. Game time is set for 7:00pm with the winner advancing to the championship game.
