BRADENTON, Fla. (December 5, 2011) - Today the IMG Academy baseball program announced the addition of a 12U Wood Bat League (WBL) to its legion of leagues sponsored by Under Armour, which already includes the popular 14U WBL in its second year, and the original High School WBL.
The newest division is designed for players who are still on the youth fields but wish to take their game to the next level and train like the pros.
Players will have two exclusive youth fields, with 70' bases, 50' mounds and 225' outfield fences, as well as a 6,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art hitting complex with four covered tunnels, six T-stations, six outdoor batting cages, and a ProBatter Professional PX2 Video Pitching system.
IMG 12U WBL participants will be selected for four teams and assigned training, regular season and tournament game schedules. Players will train six days a week, and will learn from former collegiate and MLB coaches on IMG Academy' 400 acre campus in Bradenton, Florida. On-field training and regular games will be complemented by speed, strength and agility training offered by experts at the world-renowned Athletic & Personal Development program.
The 2012 IMG 12U Wood Bat League will run July 15-August 11, 2012. An option for a pre-season add-on week is available July 8-15, 2012. All three Wood Bat Leagues are expected to sell out this year.
