The IMG Academy women's basketball program recently wrapped up its most exciting fall/winter yet, finishing the regular season with a record of 38-8 (5-2 against junior colleges).
Collegiate coaches have been raving about the team’s powerful play fueled by intensity, passion and a work ethic of champions. To date, 40 Division I representatives have attended practice sessions, while another 15 followed the team during a five-month, nationwide competition schedule. Tournament invitations came from Miami, Jacksonville, San Diego, Durham and Washington D.C. – where seven of the team’s wins came against top-20, nationally-ranked opponents.
Additionally, the women’s program had the opportunity to take numerous college tours, sit courtside at some Division I basketball games, and spend time acquainting themselves with American history in the nation’s capital. The latter was especially exciting for a team that’s composed of 19 players from eight countries who speak seven languages!
Spring season kicks off March 1st. Stay tuned for more great results and exciting experiences!
