Hopkins catches ball in stride while working out at IMG Academy

On March 7th, scouts, coaches and executives representing 31 NFL franchises attended Clemson University’s pro day. Many were there to see IMG Academy trainee and Clemson wide receiver DeAndre “Nuk” Hopkins. Hopkins is currently projected as an early second-round selection on several mock drafts.

Hopkins was noted for his ball skills and soft hands at the Combine, and his pro day only confirmed that analysis. However, he showed the biggest strides with his 40-yard dash times. Hopkins clocked in with impressive unofficial times of
4.46 seconds on his first attempt, and 4.41 on his next. At the Combine, Hopkins was officially timed at 4.57.

During the college football season, Hopkins proved his capabilities on the field. Hopkins led the entire Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) in receptions (82), receiving yards (1,405 yds.) and touchdowns. His ACC-leading 18 receiving touchdowns on the year was good for second in the nation. He also helped lead his team to an upset victory over LSU in the 2012 Chick Fil-A Bowl, shredding the nation’s No. 8 ranked defense with 13 receptions for 191 yards and two TDs.

Additionally, the talented receiver released a video where he caught 33 straight balls one-handed from a JUGS machine while training at IMG Academy.  Hopkins’ one-handed demonstration can be seen here:
