University of Dayton men’ basketball star Brian Roberts is one of 79 players who have been selected to participate in this weeks NBA Pre-Draft Camp in Orlando, Florida. Roberts, a 6-2 senior guard from Toledo, Ohio, led the UD men to a 23-11 record and a quarterfinal appearance in the NIT. He led Dayton in scoring (18.4), three-pointers (100-220, .455), free throws (111-129, .860) and minutes (34.7). Roberts ended his career in the UD Top Ten in 10 statistical categories, including #1 in three-pointers made (293) and 3-pt. FG% (.441, 293-665). He was a three-time All-Atlantic 10 selection, and was a finalist for the Wooden, Naismith and Cousy Awards, in addition to the Lowes Senior CLASS Award.
After completing the winter semester and earning his degree from UD, Roberts has been training at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida for the last month.” I’m very pleased for B-Rob," UD coach Brian Gregory said. "He proved himself to be one of the top guards in the country during the season, and that, plus all the hard work he has put in, has given him this opportunity to prove himself on an even bigger stage."
The pre-draft camp rosters give a good indication as to who the NBA feels are the top prospects in the upcoming NBA Draft. Sanctioned and organized by the NBA, it is held in Orlando, Florida beginning Tuesday evening, May 27 through Friday, May 30 and features drills and games, plus official measurements taken of each player. The NBA draft will be held Thursday, June 26 at Madison Square Garden.
