Taja Valmyr

Taja Valmyr brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to the IMG Academy volleyball program, along with a strong commitment to mentoring and empowering young athletes.

Most recently, Valmyr was honored with the 2025 AVCA High School 30 Under 30 Award, a prestigious recognition celebrating the top young coaches under 30 in the country. This accolade highlights her exceptional talent, dedication, and promising future in the world of coaching. Before IMG Academy, Valmyr played a key role in the success of both programs at Eastern Washington University (EWU), leading the Lady Tigers to their first GCAC Championship and helping the Tiger Men secure the SIAC Regular Season Co-Championship and finish as Tournament Runner-Up in 2021–2022.

She previously coached club volleyball at Jacksonville Juniors for four seasons. As a standout player at Flagler College, Valmyr clinched three Conference Championships, earned AVCA All-American honors, received three All-Peach Belt Conference selections, and made three NCAA Tournament appearances. She graduated from Flagler College in 2018 with a degree in strategic communications. A native of Green Cove Springs, Florida, Valmyr had an impressive high school career at Clay High School, earning four letters in volleyball, two in basketball, and two in track. She was named an All-First Coast Conference selection as a senior, recording 322 kills, 31 aces, and 200 digs for the Lady Blue Devils.
