Two IMG Academy Golf Alumni Win Medals in Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games
IMG Academy golf has a longstanding reputation for developing golfers for the next level. Whether that be campers who are aspiring to make their high school golf team or student-athletes who dream of signing an NLI to a top college golf program, IMG Academy has a methodology and training structure geared towards any level. Many golfers also push their limits even further and work towards their goal of competing on the PGA or LPGA Tour.
While it may be a dream for many, IMG Academy alumni have made their aspirations a reality, such as Paula Creamer, Emiliano Grillo, Jessica Korda, Mika Miyazato, Andres Echavarria, and several others. Two other alumni currently competing on the pro tours also just secured perhaps the highest honor of all and one of the ultimate achievements for any athlete - winning an Olympic medal. Nelly Korda (USA), IMG Academy golf alumnae, and CT Pan (TPE), IMG Academy golf alumnus, recently represented their country in Tokyo and brought home a gold medal and bronze medal, respectively.
Nelly secured a first-place finish with a -17 finish, totaling 267 after four rounds. CT Pan finished third behind Xander Schauffele and Rory Sabbatini after a playoff with a total score of 269 at -15. Nelly is also currently the top-ranked golfer in the Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings while Pan stands at 136 in the Official World Golf Rankings.
We are incredibly proud of these two alumni and wish them as well as all IMG Academy golf alumni the best as they continue to compete throughout the 2021 season.
