As the 2024 academic year concludes, I am filled with pride and admiration for our graduating class. This year’s graduating class, comprising 394 student-athletes, has upheld, and surpassed the high standards set by previous classes, cementing its legacy as one of the most distinguished in IMG Academy’s history.
Among the 394 graduates, 363 earned college preparatory diplomas, while 31 earned general studies diplomas. The class boasted an impressive weighted GPA of 3.67 and an unweighted GPA of 3.49, reflecting our student-athletes’ consistent academic achievements. Notably, 31 student-athletes graduated with high honors, maintaining a perfect cumulative GPA of 4.0, and 157 student-athletes earned honors with a cumulative GPA of 3.5. We had 106 graduates who are members of the National Honor Society and 90 Ascender Scholars, student-athletes who have been at IMG Academy for all four years of high school.
The academic excellence of our graduates is further highlighted by the acceptance of 20 student-athletes into US News Top 25 colleges and universities, including:
- Five to Dartmouth College
- Four to the University of Notre Dame
- Three to Columbia University
- Two to Northwestern University
- Two to Vanderbilt University
- One each to Johns Hopkins University, University of California - Berkeley, University of Pennsylvania, and Yale University
This year, we are thrilled to announce a record number of Ivy League commitments, with 10 student-athletes choosing to continue their education at these prestigious institutions. The 2024 Ivy League commitments include:
- Five to Dartmouth College
- Three to Columbia University
- One to the University of Pennsylvania
- One to Yale University
Our graduates have committed to a diverse array of collegiate athletic programs:
- 225 student-athletes to Division I programs.
- 40 student-athletes to Division II programs.
- 65 student-athletes to Division III programs.
- Two to NAIA programs.
- Three to United States Military Academies.
Representing 42 countries, the diversity of our graduating class enhances the global perspective and cultural richness of our academy. Seven senior class student-athletes will continue their academic and athletic journeys at international schools.
The class's commitment to academic advancement is further evidenced by the number of dual enrollment credits earned—1,000 in the fall and 1,500 in the spring. A total of 160 student-athletes participated in dual enrollment in the fall, increasing to 200 in the spring, demonstrating their drive to excel beyond the high school curriculum.
Among the standout scholars are Gerard O’Keefe and Giorgio Garuzzo, both national merit scholars, with O'Keefe also being a Presidential Scholar Nominee. Chloe Chang received in excellent rating in the 2024 NCTE Achievement Award in the Writing Contest. IMG Academy had both a Harvard Book Award and Yale Book Award winner in Bennett Jacobs (class of 2025) and Chang (class of 2025), respectively. Their achievements reflect the high academic standards and support provided by IMG Academy.
The 2024 Senior Class of IMG Academy celebrates the culmination of years of hard work and dedication and sets a new benchmark for future classes. I extend my gratitude to our dedicated faculty, staff, coaches, trainers, and more who have supported our student-athletes every step of the way.
