IMG Academy Hosts Fall On-Campus College Fair With More Than 70 Schools

IMG Academy held an education-based college fair where more than 600 families and student-athletes attended and engaged with more than 70 colleges and universities. The fall college fair provided invaluable insight and exposure into academic majors, minors, and additional programs at several public, private and specialized institutions nationwide. It was the second college fair held in 2023 for IMG Academy’s student-athletes.

“The college fair is impactful time as there’s not a lot of schools across the country that have 70+ colleges and universities coming to their campus all in one day to speak with its student-athletes” said Dr. Michael Lehan, Senior Vice President, and Head of School at IMG Academy. “At IMG Academy, the college process is critical for our student-athletes and providing them with the opportunity to interface with schools they’re interested in helps set us apart and provide an inside look on what higher education institutions require for admission.”

The college fair at IMG Academy included Florida-based schools (Florida State University, University of Central Florida, University of Florida and University of South Florida), nationwide schools (Michigan State University, Penn State University and University of Alabama), and specialized schools (Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, New York Film Academy and United States Naval Academy).

To prepare parents and student-athletes for the college fair, IMG Academy held a college counseling week to answer questions, educate student-athletes on priority topics during discussions with school representatives and how to follow-up with their prospective colleges and universities. To prepare its participants, IMG Academy toured representatives of its campus and debriefed with most programs on students’ backgrounds and potential interests. IMG Academy’s Academic Program will assist student-athletes and guide them in the college selection process as next steps from the college fair.
