IMG Academy Names Mike Milliron as Chief Operating Officer of Bradenton Campus

BRADENTON, Fla. (May 21, 2024) - IMG Academy, the world's leading sports education brand, has announced the promotion of Mike Milliron to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) of IMG Academy Campus, effective immediately.

In his new role, Milliron will oversee all aspects of campus delivery and experiences, including its boarding school and camps, Legacy Hotel, and IMG Academy Golf Club. Milliron brings to the role a wealth of experience, strategic acumen, creativity, and a proven track record of driving organizational growth and excellence at IMG Academy.

Prior to his appointment as COO, Milliron served as Senior Vice President of Product Operations, where he had oversight of Student Life and Athletics, in addition to consumer insights, product innovation, and customer success/experience. In the role, he spearheaded several initiatives to elevate customer experience and drive cultural evolution within the organization.

Milliron began his 13-year IMG Academy tenure in 2011 as student-athlete advisor and program manager in Lacrosse. Since then, he has held leadership roles as Director of Sales, Associate Athletic Director, Director of Camps, Chief of Staff, and interim Head of School, among other positions across eight total departments. His strategic decision-making and innovative approaches have been instrumental in positioning IMG Academy as a global leader in sports and education.

A graduate of Penn State with a Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences, Milliron’s journey began with a strong foundation in academics and athletics. He was a member of the varsity baseball team at Penn State and was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 2005 Major League Baseball draft. Milliron continued his pursuit of excellence in academia, earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Masters of Sports Administration from Ohio University.
