In March 2021, Johnny Maccarone went through a kidney transplant, the result of a rare genetic disorder. While his road to recovery was an unknown following the procedure, one thing was certain: Maccarone would be back stronger than ever on the lacrosse field playing the game he loves.
After joining IMG Academy in 2021 for a post-graduate year, Maccarone and his family may say that they're lucky to be engrained in the IMG community, but it's truly the IMG family that's lucky to have Maccarone involved in the lacrosse program.
