At IMG Academy, student-athletes are always striving for that next level, to push themselves and grow mentally and physically each day to achieve their goals. Working that hard means recovery is serious business, which is why IMG Academy is excited to announce Therabody™ as an official recovery partner.

Therabody, the global innovator in tech wellness and the creator of Theragun®, the world’s first hand-held percussive massage therapy device, has been at the forefront of recovery since its founding in 2007, offering an ecosystem of industry-leading whole-body wellness solutions. Helping people recover effectively and feel their best is core to Therabody’s mission, and the Athletic and Personal Development team at IMG Academy is honored to be implementing their products and solutions into the institution’s programming.

Earlier this year, IMG Academy’s Athletic Performance Department, including sport scientists and athletic trainers, received extensive education from the Therabody team, via Therabody University, before the devices hit the training rooms on campus. Therabody University is a perfect resource for IMG Academy as they strive to provide continuing education for employees. Therabody University classes will allow for new employees to have the same training on products (or new products) in the future.

Additionally, Recovery Zones were installed across campus in IMG Academy’s training rooms and weight rooms to not only provide athletes with access to Therabody’s premium devices -- such as the Theragun PRO and the Wave Roller – but where they will also receive guidance from trainers on how to optimize the benefits of these devices. Therabody’s smart devices are also Bluetooth enabled and seamlessly connect to the Therabody App where athletes access additional protocols that they can follow while in the comfort of their dorms or for when they are not in the training rooms.

Proper recovery and training are a large component of Therabody’s work and are immensely important for the student-athletes and collegiate and professional athletes who train at IMG Academy, like Maria Sharapova, 5x Grand Slam Champion and Therabody Strategic Advisor, one of the most accomplished athletes to come out of IMG Academy.
