He's committed to Michigan, a 5-star class of 2021 recruit, and now he's a McDonald's All-American. Moussa Diabate, 6'9" PF senior IMG Academy basketball student-athlete was named to the 2021 roster this week.
Three IMG boys basketball student-athletes were nominated, including Diabate, Ezra Ausar, and Tamar Bates. Diabate joins six other male Ascenders who have been recognized in previous years as McDonald's All Americans. Last year, Mark Williams (Duke) and Jaden Springer (Tennessee) earned their spots on the All American roster. In 2019, IMG Academy made history when Josh Green (Dallas Mavericks / Arizona), Jeremiah Robinson-Earl (Villanova), and Armando Bacot (North Carolina) became the first-ever trio from the same team selected to the McDonald’s game. Trevon Duval (Duke) was the program’s first-ever McDonald’s All-American.
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the 2021 McDonald's All American game won't be played this year, but the honor of being named as one of 24 boys on the roster still holds as high of a prestige as ever. Read more about the McDonald's All-American games by clicking this link.
