The 2022 MLB Draft took place July 17-19, 2022, and four IMG Academy student-athletes were selected this year—Elijah Green (fifth overall), Jackson Ferris (47th), Brady Neal (522nd), and JeanPierre Ortiz (591st).
Green joins Chris Perez (’03), Brady Aiken (’15), and Brennan Malone (’19) as the fourth first-round selection in IMG baseball program history. Green also makes IMG history as the highest-ever MLB Draft selection in IMG history. Check out the moment he found out by clicking here.
Since 2008, IMG Academy has now had 54 MLB Draft selections to 25 different franchises, with multiple student-athlete selections in 15 of the last 16 years (the lone year without a selection was in 2020, which was shortened to five rounds due to the COVID-19 pandemic). IMG has also had nine draft picks within the first three rounds since 2015.
