World Series champion CC Sabathia’s son Carter has a deep passion for baseball and is dedicated to improving his game. With that in mind, Sabathia knew his son would flourish in the high-level environment at IMG Academy.
“Any kid that loves their sport on the level that Carter does, I think IMG [Academy] is the perfect place to send them,” Sabathia said, “especially for a summer camp … It’s like a real Spring Training.”
Leveling Up with Expert Coaches
Now going into his fourth year of camp, Carter reflected on how working with expert IMG coaches has leveled up his game, including improving his swing. He added that being in the competitive setting at IMG Academy with like-minded campers “drives you to do better than you usually would.”
Sabathia noticed the difference too. The former pro noted that not only has his son gotten better on the field, but that his experience has helped him become more mature with a sharper work ethic.

“As a parent, you always want to put your kid in situations where they’re going to thrive and do well,” Sabathia said. “In the last three years, I’ve watched [Carter] get a lot better at baseball.”

In between the residence halls, which campers stay in if they are signed up for the recommended boarding option, there is a rec area open to all athletes between camp programming sessions. The area includes a resort-style pool with a lifeguard, basketball courts, table tennis, and more.
