Girls Lacrosse Academy Overview

IMG Academy’s girls lacrosse program's history of elite college placement as well as innovative and effective training translates directly to the next level and continues to be recognized globally. Student-athletes learn directly from experienced coaches, former NCAA champions, and Hall-of-Famers who offer advice and guidance that cannot be found anywhere else.

IMG’s wide network of resources are optimal for academic, athletic, and personal growth. Since the program’s inception, student-athletes have committed to programs such as Florida, Johns Hopkins, and Dartmouth after developing their foundational skills, proper technique, lacrosse IQ, and confidence. IMG girls lacrosse student-athletes have access to the training methodology and supportive resources both on the field and in the classroom that allow them to achieve their complete potential.

Girls Lacrosse Program Structure

IMG Academy girl’s lacrosse program offers a well-rounded, dynamic environment for student-athletes to achieve their full potential not only on the field, but in the classroom and in life. Student-athletes will improve upon key fundamentals such as shooting and passing, player movements, such as change of speed and direction, game strategies and teamwork, and formations developed within IMG lacrosse’s overall methodology.

IMG’s lacrosse coaches instruct players to control the tempo of the game and play smart and aggressive while focusing on spacing, the pace of the game, and staying on the offense to create scoring opportunities in pressure situations. The girls program competes against nationally-credited opponents that challenge each student-athlete both individually and as a part of the team.

The program also places a significant emphasis on academics and college placement. Each student-athlete has a support system around them inclusive of lacrosse coaches, strength and conditioning coach, athletic trainers, teachers, college advisors, and more to aid in the developmental process that includes:

  • An individual lacrosse developmental plan

Four years ago when I went to camp at IMG Academy for the first time, I knew I wanted to go to school here. When the girls lacrosse program started, I was beyond excited knowing that it was the perfect school to prepare me for the next level in lacrosse. I love the coaching and the combination of academics and athletics. It is the best place to be to create your game.

Although the beautiful campus and buildings at IMG Academy are impressive, we left our daughter Emily on Sunday night knowing that it’s the people at IMG that really make the difference.
