Why IMG?

Our English through Cultural Immersion program is an ideal program for non-native English speakers looking to become more proficient in the English language, while experiencing Florida’s notable cultural and outdoor attractions. Available in weekly and multi-week formats, English through Cultural Immersion combines daily off-campus trips in the morning with English classes taught by experienced ESL certified teachers in the afternoon. Trips include museum tours, shopping trips, outdoor excursions, beach trips and more.

  • What does a typical day/week look like?

Campers meet at 9:00 am every morning to preview each day’s activity. Then they go with their teacher by IMG Academy transportation to the location of the field trip. Return to campus will vary according to the activity schedule, length and distance from IMG. Except the days when lunch is included, campers will return to IMG Academy in time for lunch. Campers will then do classroom work every afternoon from 2:00 to 4:45 pm.

  • What is the recommended length of stay?

Five weeks will give campers the greatest range of experiences in the Sarasota-Bradenton area.

  • What does camp include?

The cost of the program includes all admission fees and ticket purchases, transportation, leaders or tour guides, at least one lunch and snacks.

  • What should campers bring for the activities?

In general, campers should have shorts, t-shirts, jeans, a light weight jacket, socks and comfortable sport shoes.  Flip flops are not recommended for many of the activities. Many activities are outside and in or around water, so campers should bring:

    • Swimsuits
    • Beach towel
    • Water shoes or old sport shoes that can get wet
    • Hat
    • Sunscreen

  • What happens when the weather is bad?

The schedule may need to be rearranged if bad weather prevents campers from being outside.

  • Who is this camp for?

    • Anyone age 7 and above can participate in the English through Cultural Immersion camp.
    • Parents of young campers may accompany their children if there is space available, but they will need to pay their own entrance fees, tickets and lunches.
