About Me

Bob Ludwig just completed his first season at IMG Academy and his 17th year of coaching overall. 15 of those years were spent at the college level with stops at NAIA, JUCO and NCAA Division 3 institutions. In that timespan, Ludwig was the head coach or lead assistant in winning 7 conference championships and made 9 national tournaments runs. The college programs he has been a part of have averaged 22.2 wins per season. Before coming to IMG Academy, Ludwig spent 5 years as head coach of Peru State College in Nebraska, where he won more games in his initial 3 seasons than any coach in the institution's 160 year history did in the same timeframe. Prior to that, he was the lead assistant at Central Wyoming College (NJCAA D1) where he recruited three NCAA Division 1 players in one recruiting cycle and helped the program to their highest win total in 10 years. Before Central Wyoming, he was the lead assistant at Midland University for four seasons – in that timeframe, the team broke records for single-season wins, consecutive national tournament appearances, and won the school’s 1st ever GPAC Tournament Championship in one of the biggest turnarounds in the history of the NAIA – culminating in a 2014 NAIA National Championship game Runner-Up finish. Prior to Midland, Ludwig was the lead assistant at Bellevue University where the Bruins won 3 consecutive conference championships and never lost a 1st round national tournament game, making the NAIA Final Four in 2010. His first college stop was his alma mater, Nebraska Wesleyan (NCAA D3) in 2007. Ludwig has recruited 13 All-Americans and 35 All-Conference performers and has sent several graduates to play professionally overseas including NBA Summer League participant and 2019 HAAC player of the year Lyle Hexom.
