IMG Academy's Matthew De Heus wins fourth straight GSJGA event; inches closer to Player of the Year honors

IMG Academy's Matthew De Heus has been on fire over the summer, recently winning his fourth consecutive Greater Sarasota Junior Golf Association event. Playing at Bent Tree Country Club in Sarasota, Fla., July 8, De Heus left his competitors in the dust as he recorded an eight-over 80 in the single round event. It was only De Heus' fourth appearance in a GSJGA event, and he is already in position to take over the points standings in the Regular Tour Boys 12 and Under Player of the Year standings. De Heus took top honors at the US Kids Florida State Championship in June when he won the Boys 10s division with a four-stroke victory.

De Heus comes to IMG Academy from San Francisco, Calif. via the Netherlands. He will look to continue his winning ways during the upcoming academic year as a full-time IMG Academy golf program student-athlete, but looks to capture GSJGA Player of the Year honors before beginning classes in the fall.
