IMG Academy Baseball alumnus J.R. Murphy had a milestone filled month of September. Murphy was called up to the New York Yankees, and singled in his first career at-bat. He also had the privilege to catch for soon-to-be Baseball Hall of Famer Mariano Rivera's final game. This week, it was announced that Murphy was ranked among the top-20 prospects in the Eastern League by Baseball America. Murphy checked in at No. 18 for the Eastern League after hitting .268/.352/.421 with six home runs and an 11.4% walk rate in 211 plate appearances as the top catching prospect in the league. Murphy moved up to Triple-A and picked up right where he left off, hitting .270/.342/.430 with six home runs and an 8.9% walk rate in another 257 plate appearances.
