Athletic performance training at IMG Academy will take your game to the next level. We’ve developed an innovative training program that revolutionizes traditional training methodologies and helps prepare athletes for the next step. Our program combines seven unique training disciplines, including physical conditioning; mental conditioning; nutrition; leadership; vision training; athletic body management and life skills. Each discipline contributes to the overall development of the total student-athlete and promotes athletic progression for players in every sport at every ability level.

Student-athletes will have full access to our 10,000 square foot weight room, our 8-lane 400 meter track, covered performance turf/track and dozens of courts, fields and courses.

By The Numbers

Program Features

  • Ages 8-10 (non-boarding), 12-19 (boarding). Post-Graduate programs available
  • Physical: Sport-specific strength, power, movement, speed, agility, flexibility and conditioning
  • Mental: Build confidence, focus and determination to compete at your best on any given day
  • Nutrition: Optimal everyday nutrition, eating plans, body composition, energy balance and body weight issues, dietary supplements and hydration strategies
  • Leadership: Personal presence, communication skills, character building, accountability and conversation skill, stability as a leader
  • Vision: Your eye is a muscle - train it accordingly to help you ‘see’ the field, court or course like never before
  • Athletic Body Management: Reduce the potential of injury, learn corrective exercises, optimal training, rejuvenation of the body, massage and physical therapy
  • Life skills: Develop high-performance habits in both sports and life
  • College-style A/B schedule that involves school in the first half of the day and sport training in the latter, or vice versa depending on sport and individual schedule. This allows for an ideal environment that enhances improvement in all aspects of academics and athletics.

Athletic and Personal Development is the operating system for all sports. Utilizing a revolutionary training curriculum that addresses all key areas, it promotes athletic progression, character development, leadership and overall personal evolution.

Three Pillars of Training

1 – Core Training
Core Training consists of Physical Conditioning and Movement Training (delivered multiple times per week), Mental Conditioning (once per week), Nutrition (1-2 classes per semester) and Leadership Training (1-2 per semester). It also includes access to certified Athletic Trainers who cover practices and competitions as well as an athletic training room available for students for injury prevention and recovery. All IMG Academy student-athletes receive Core Training as part of their sport programming.

2 – Performance Classes
As part of the sport curriculum, all student-athletes receive four Athletic & Personal Development classes each school year. Each class lasts for 7 weeks. The classes are selected by the sport director and coaches based on what they feel will benefit the student-athlete the most, with students then rotating to a different class for each 7-week period. Each class has a tailored sport-specific curriculum. Classes include:
